Monitoring of Prosecution Reform in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Adjara Regions to be Carried Out by Local NGOs

IDFI successfully trained two contest winner NGOs – Civil Society Institute (CSI) Batumi Branch and Association DEA – on how to monitor the implementation of the ongoing prosecution reform in Georgia. Over the following 8 months, these organizations will carry out their monitoring in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Adjara regions.

Opening the KGB Archive in Latvia - Useful Example for Georgia

It is important for Georgia to develop legislation of high standards on the freedom and accessibility of information. the country should adopt the "Lustration" law and support the study of totalitarian epoch, archival materials and the youth participation in this process. It is also necessary to specify the concept of "personal data" in relation to archival documents.

Training On Hate-motivated Crimes and Hate Speech for Prosecutors and Journalists

Hate crimes and hate speech was a topic of a two day training organized by IDFI. The training was attended by 35 participants: representatives of the prominent media outlets, the spokesperson of the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia and prosecutors of managerial positions.

IDFI Organized a Training on Discrimination on the Grounds of Gender and Sex for Prosecutors and Investigators of Prosecution Service

Prosecutors and investigators from various territorial authorities of the Prosecution Service of Georgia participated in the training on gender discrimination and sexual harassment. The event was organized by IDFI with the support from the European Union, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
