On February 9th, 2015 Tbilisi City Court fully granted the appeal of IDFI Vs. the Penitentiary Department. The entity was to provide IDFI with the public information requested by the FOI letter # OPD05/14-005.

IDFI Organized the First Meeting of the Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group

On the 2nd of April, the first meeting was held, within the scopes of the EU/UNDP Project "Strengthening the System of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia", between the Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group. The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI).

The information received from the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia highlights that during the period of October 2012 to January 2015, 52 530 appeals/notices linked with the misconducts of public officials have been received by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Director of a Partner Organization of IDFI from Azerbaijan is Hiding at the Embassy of Switzerland

Since August 11th, 2014 the director of an NGO "Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety" (IRFS), Emin Huseynov, has been forced to seek refugee at the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku. IRFS is one of the partner organizations of IDFI.

Representatives of Public Institutions, Media and Civil Society Organizations attended the event.
