Government of Georgia Decree on OGP National Action Plan (2014-2015)

On September 18th, 2014, the Government of Georgia published the Decree (#557) about National Action Plan of OGP (2014-2015). The Action Plan comprises 27 commitments to be implemented by 16 responsible agencies until the end of 2015.

Access to Public Information in LEPLs and State Sub-Agencies in Georgia - Report of 2013-2014

In may 2014 IDFI has published the report on the Access to Public Information in Central Public Institutions of Georgia (The Parliament, The Chancellery of the Government of Georgia, the Administration of the President of Georgia, ministries, offices of state ministers, the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, the Administration of South Ossetia, the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and its ministries) covering the period of October 2013 – March 2014. At this stage we present the report on the Access to Public Information in legal entities of public law, state sub-agencies and other public entities (80 public entities in all) for the period of October 2013 – July 2014.

Giorgi Kldishvili, the director of Institute for Development of Freedom of information (IDFI) will participate in the talk show with global civil society leaders organized by Open Government Partnership (OGP) with Ford Foundation. The meeting will be held on September 24, at the head office of the Ford Foundation in New York.

The meeting organized by Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) was held in the Center for Civic Engagement in Batumi within the framework of the project Facilitate Open Government Partnership Initiative.

The Georgian government approved OGP 2014-2015 Action Plan

The Georgian government approved the second Open Government Partnership Action Plan (OGP) on its September 5th session. 16 state bodies have undertaken 27 commitments to be fulfilled in 2012-2015. The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) has been actively engaged in the development process of the plan.

Data from Guria region for 2013

Various public informations received from local authorities of Guria are now accessible on opendata.ge. Provided information concerns various expenses of the local authorities, the list of vehicles on balance and replaced ones 2013 audit acts (internal, external, state and non-state) and the list of actions carried out for improving breaches and faults revealed by controlling agencies; diplomas of higher education of heads and deputy heads of Municipal boards and Municipal councils as well as electronic business-related correspondence.

Georgia Elected as Member of OGP Steering Committee

This year, for the first time after 2011 OGP steering committee was elected by the member states. 11 states had been competing for 8 seats, including Georgia. The results of the elections, which took place on July 30, had been declared on August 4. USA, Brazil, UK, Philippines and Tanzania got re-elected, while Georgia, Croatia and France joined the committee for the first time.
