Independent Reporting Mechanism Published the Progress Report on Georgia which assess Georgia's participation in the Open Government Partnership.
The Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) held its 7th General Assembly on February 29, 2016, with the purpose of summarizing the platform’s one year performance, and electing its chairman and working group coordinators. The assembly was attended by 130 representatives from 86 member organizations.
On March 2, 2016, 17th meeting of the Open Government Partnership Georgia Forum was held at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
On March 1st, 2016, Webinar was held on “2016 OGP National Action Plan Development,” financed by the World Bank Group and the OGP Support Unit. Presenters of the Webinar: Abhinav Bahl, program manager of the OGP Support Unit and Shreya Basu, OGP regional coordinator for Asia-Pacific discussed how national action plans should be developed, what notions should guide the countries in the development process, and provided thorough recommendation for elaborating the stronger action plans in term of the format, process, and content.
On 10th of March, Open Government Partnership published the list of shortlisted candidates for the OGP Steering Committee nomination.
We welcome the fact that many of the above public institutions expressed readiness to follow our recommendation.
By the order issued on 12th February, 2016, of the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia David Usupashvili, the Charter of the Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open and Transparent Governance was approved.
On March 5-6th, the workshop of the Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open and Transparent Governance of the Parliament of Georgia and the Consultative Group took place in Borjomi.
Governance Data Alliance publihes various governance data anually and tries to advance democratic governance reforms in countries. We assess various indicators about Georgia and compare them to the indicators of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Estonia.
