The report - Two Years in Government: Georgian Dream’s Performance Review was presented on May 28th at Tbilisi Marriot hotel. The report covers 20 different fields of public politics. 15 local NGOs prepared different chapters according to their specialization.

Recommendations of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) On the Reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia

As the member of the Working Group, IDFI, drew out the recommendations that support the implementation of the reforms, modernization and creation of the effective citizen engagement mechanism at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

OGP report about Azerbaijan government oppression on SCOs

On 2nd of March, civil society organization submitted complaint letter to the OGP for for suppression the civil society organizations in Azerbaijan. The letter was based on the OGP’s Response Policy that aims to “assist a country in question to overcome difficulties and to help re-establish an environment for government and civil society collaboration, safeguard the Open Government Declaration and mitigate reputational risks to OGP”.

Ukraine is Developing a Single Web-Portal of Open Data

On September 12th 2015 a new law on Transparency of the Use of Public Funds will enter into force in Ukraine. According to the new legislation recipients of funds from state and local budgets, state- and communal-owned enterprises and obligatory social insurance funds will be obliged to publicize detailed information on the use of public funds on quarterly basis.

The Level of Transparency Continues to Worsen

In March 2015 IDFI referred with FOI requests to every Ministry and their Sub-agency in Georgia. In total 1185 requests were sent to 19 Ministries and 49 Ministry Sub-entities. It should be emphasized that 22.9% of the requests were ignored by the public institutions. High number of the ignored requests is explained by the fact that three Ministries and nine Sub-entities did not provide any response on our questions.
