Open Government Partnership announced the OGP Government Champions Award

Open Government Partnership team has announced the OGP Government Champions Award. The Award is intended to showcase the ideal co-creation dynamic between the government and civil society while elaborating the National Action Plan. In addition, the award is thought to provide a high-level political visibility to the key actors who have played an immense role in upholding the OGP commitments.

OGP released the video records of the GLOW Conference

On September 14-15, Meeting of the Open Government Partnership's Legislative Openness Working Group was held in the palace of the Parliament of Georgia in Tbilisi. In relation to this event, OGP has released the video records of the conference for those who were not able to attend the conference. On 25th of September, 2015 on its 70th anniversary, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development titled as the “Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

Open Government Partnership as the Tool for Implementing the United Nations 2030 Goals for Sustainable Development

On 25th of September, 2015 on its 70th anniversary, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This new agenda is an ambitious “agenda for people, to end poverty in all its forms – an agenda for the planet, our common home” said UN general secretary, Ban Ki-moon during his address at the opening of the Post-2015 Development Agenda Summit.

Open Parliament - Voice of Youth

The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) is implementing the project - 'Supporting Involvement of the Parliament of Georgia in Open Government Partnership' with support of the UNDP and the EU. The project aims to increase transparency, openness and citizen engagement in the legislative processes. Within the project, IDFI is announcing a competition for the students, who are interested in the work of the Parliament.

Georgia in World Governance Indicators 1996 - 2014

Regardless of existing internal problems as well as potential external threats faced by the country, at the international level Georgia is perceived as one of the fastest developing states. Nonetheless it is crucial that the trend of developing is sustained. IDFI hopes that Georgia will further follow the trend of development which will be reflected in the upcoming Worldwide Governance Indicators.
