In 2015 the Quality of Government Institute at the University of Gothenburg published an Expert Survey Report II. The report assesses the design and the administration of bureaucracy as of 2014 in 159 countries, including Georgia.

IDFI's Director Competing for Membership of OGP Steering Committee

Open Government Partnership (OGP) will hold the final stage of interviews for 16 semi-finalists competing for the membership of the OGP Steering Committee. The semi-finals of this international competition have shortlisted 16 candidates out of 47, including the director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) Giorgi Kldiashvili.

Top 10 Criterias for Creating New National Action Plan

Open Government Partnership (OGP) has published a blog which outlines 10 principal criteria for developing an effective OGP national action plan. Third wave of the OGP action plans is kicking off from May and according to OGP, an action plan based on the criteria listed below will ensure its relevance to the OGP values and principles, thus, will ensure openness, transparency and accountability of the governmental sector, and encourage civic engagement in decision making process

Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) took part in public discussions on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) 2016-2017 Action Plan. The discussions were held in Telavi, Sagarejo, and Kachreti.

Free Industrial Zones and Confidentiality of Tax Information in Georgia (IDFI VS Revenue Service)

On April 16, 2015, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) sent a freedom of information letter to the Georgian Revenue Service requesting information on whether the Revenue Service had conducted inspections of Free Industrial Zones (FIZ) in the country. IDFI also requested the reports or protocols prepared by the Revenue Service as a result of these inspections.

Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 - Strengthening Public Involvement (ZigB) (2015-2016) Final Report

The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), in partnership with the University of Bremen and with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany implemented the project “Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 – Strengthening Public Involvement” between July 10, 2015 and February 10, 2016. The goal of the project was to raise the awareness among civil society groups and to strengthen the understanding of Georgia’s socio-economic development strategy “Georgia 2020”, to identify problems and to formulate relevant recommendations, existing challenges and the implementation process of the strategy.
