Interim Report -The Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Migration Process in Georgia - Achievements and Problems

On February 7th, 2014, Government of Georgia has approved the Action plan and recommendations about Digital Terrestrial Switchover in Georgia. As a result, after IDFI’s active advocacy work, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has completely changed the strategy which was presented in March 2013.

IDFI Trainings about E-participation

IDFI delivered 6 trainings about e-participation during September 15-24, 2014. Approximately 60 students from different faculties (Law, Social and Political Studies, Humanities, Business and Economics, Public Governance, Mass Communication) and universities attended the trainings.

Internet Freedom in Georgia – Report N3-4

In attempt to have clear and comprehensive picture about current developments regarding internet and e-governance in Georgia, this report examines statistical data on internet users, major plans and efforts of government to improve access to internet and electronic services among citizens. Moreover, it covers international reports regarding Georgia, displaying performance of the country in terms of e-governance and other related issues. Finally, the study touches upon the issues of online media and protection of users’ rights.

On April 16, 2014 ‘Media Advocacy Coalition’ organized the round table meeting. The major topic of the meeting was challenges of digital switchover of the regional and local broadcasters and the problems connected to measuring the Georgian TV ratings.
