The Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open Governance and its Consultative Group held a workshop during May 20-21. In frames of the meeting the members of the council and the consultative group discussed initiatives and recommendations submitted for the Open Parliament Georgia Action Plan 2021-2022.

The Influence of the Pandemic on Crime Statistics

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic taking place in the world led to an increased risk of deteriorating criminogenic conditions. For example, the deterioration of the socio-economic situation in the country, the massive reduction of jobs, etc., contains significant risks of an increase in crime, especially economic crime.

The development of technologies and innovations made this component highly correlate with the improvement of digital communications, especially when Covid-19 pandemic impacted the cardinal principle of public delivery and demonstrated the crucial importance of digital services.
