As it has been revealed, the major part of the information which has been subject to dispute between IDFI and MoF at different instances of courts for one year now, was included in the financial check report of State Audit Office (SAO). The Inconsistencies highlighted in the report confirmed the suspicion of IDFI that the reluctance of the Ministry to disclose the data was motivated by the aim of keeping the information on the inadequacies secret.
On May 14th, Akaki Tsereteli State University hosted a meeting in order to support the parliamentary transparency, openness and citizen participation within the scopes of the project - “Supporting Parliament of Georgia Involvement in Open Government Partnership”.
In March 2015 IDFI referred with FOI requests to every Ministry and their Sub-agency in Georgia. In total 1185 requests were sent to 19 Ministries and 49 Ministry Sub-entities. It should be emphasized that 22.9% of the requests were ignored by the public institutions. High number of the ignored requests is explained by the fact that three Ministries and nine Sub-entities did not provide any response on our questions.
On May 7-8, 2015 a conference “Central and Eastern European e-Democracy and e-Governance Days” was held in Budapest. Georgia was represented at the conference with two papers.
