IDFI successfully trained two contest winner NGOs – Civil Society Institute (CSI) Batumi Branch and Association DEA – on how to monitor the implementation of the ongoing prosecution reform in Georgia. Over the following 8 months, these organizations will carry out their monitoring in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Adjara regions.
It is important for Georgia to develop legislation of high standards on the freedom and accessibility of information. the country should adopt the "Lustration" law and support the study of totalitarian epoch, archival materials and the youth participation in this process. It is also necessary to specify the concept of "personal data" in relation to archival documents.

European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) has published its opinion on the new provisions on the prosecutorial council in the draft organic law on the Prosecutor’s Office. The opinion briefly assessed the provisions in the draft law that were prepared for the purposes of harmonizing the law on Prosecutor’s Office with the new edition of the Constitution.
Members of the Working Group on Strengthening Efficiency and Transparency and Promoting Innovative Technologies under the Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open Governance met with private sector representatives.
Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open Governance and its Consultative Group discussed the implementation of the commitments under the third Open Parliament Action Plan. The meeting was held with support from the European Union (EU) and UNDP Georgia in cooperation with IDFI.

Within the framework of the EU-funded project – “Facilitating Implementation of Reforms in the Judiciary (FAIR)”has been implementing by Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) in cooperation with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC), CRRC-Georgia presented the results of the Public Opinion Survey, which was carried out between 30 August and 15 September, culminating into 2080 completed interviews.

However, there are different methods that are used to assess quality of democracy and to make a ranking of democratic states throughout the world. V-Dem is among them.
