On February 9th, 2015 Tbilisi City Court fully granted the appeal of IDFI Vs. the Penitentiary Department. The entity was to provide IDFI with the public information requested by the FOI letter # OPD05/14-005.
On the 2nd of April, the first meeting was held, within the scopes of the EU/UNDP Project "Strengthening the System of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia", between the Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group. The Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary welcomes timely completion of the process of appointment of a new Chief Justice. Despite certain delays, the Parliament has still managed to complete the process according to the existing procedures and elected a new Chief Justice.
