On 16-17 April, 2015 representatives of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Nino Merebashvili and Tamar Iakobidze conducted two-day training on the topic – legal regulation of access to information and practice in Georgia, held within the framework of the project “Personal Data Protection and Freedom of Expression” organized by Student self-government of Tbilisi State University and European Law Students’ Association (ELSA). Other partners of the project were the Office of the Personal Data Protection Inspector and Information Centre on NATO and the EU.
On March 26th, 2015 IDFI referred to the Prosecutor's Office and requested statistical information for the years of 2010-2015 on the number of motions filed by the Prosecutors Office to the General Assembly of INTERPOL with the request of circulating red notice and number of these motions granted. IDFI also requested statistical data on the number of motions filed to the law enforcement agencies of foreign countries on extraditing wanted nationals of Georgia and the ratio of granted and denied motions. On April 6th, 2015 a round table - "Strengthening the Institute of Whistleblower Protection in Georgia" was held. The event was organized by Civil Service Bureau, with the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Kingdom of Sweden.
On February 9th, 2015 Tbilisi City Court fully granted the appeal of IDFI Vs. the Penitentiary Department. The entity was to provide IDFI with the public information requested by the FOI letter # OPD05/14-005.
On the 2nd of April, the first meeting was held, within the scopes of the EU/UNDP Project "Strengthening the System of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia", between the Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group. The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI).

The Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary welcomes timely completion of the process of appointment of a new Chief Justice. Despite certain delays, the Parliament has still managed to complete the process according to the existing procedures and elected a new Chief Justice.
