DFI, Grigol Robakidze University and Bremen University, with the financial assistance of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany within the scopes of the Project - Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 – Strengthening Public Involvement (ZigB) – offered students series of lecturing course. Four days lecturing course was conducted by Bremen University PHD student Sebastian Tideman.
On January 22nd, 2015 the Prosecutor’s Office filed an appeal against the decision of Tbilisi City Court. On 23rd of January, 2015 Tbilisi Appeals Court rendered a decision on the appeal. The judge did not take into consideration arguments of the Prosecution and did not amend the decision of the first instance court on the suspension of criminal prosecution.
4 days lecturing course that was addressing Georgian Market Economy has finished. The lecturer of the course was Giorgi Khishtovani, Head of Research of IDFI.
On November 5th, 2014 IDFI requested various public information from Tbilisi City Hall. IDFI welcomes the fact that the City Hall replied to all the requests.
One of the chief aims of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Georgia “Georgia 2020” is to improve the access to finance, including the establishment of the retirement savings system and developing financial intermediation.
On the press conference Giorgi Kldiashvili stated, that he has been recovered on the position of director of IDFI and called prosecutors office and ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate the cases of his illegal detention and pressure on him.
On December 24th 2014 Tbilisi City Court accepted the appeal of IDFI against the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result the Ministry was found responsible to provide the institute with complete information on salary supplements and bonuses received by the Minister, Deputy Minister and Department Chairmen during the year of 2013. The information is to be provided separately for each month indicating names and surnames of the officials.

On Thursday, January 15, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) has launched the discussion entitled “the Universal Healthcare Program and its Challenges in Georgia”. Discussion will be held within the scopes of the Project “Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 – Strengthening Public Involvement (ZigB)”.
