Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) took part in public discussions on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) 2016-2017 Action Plan. The discussions were held in Telavi, Sagarejo, and Kachreti.

On the 27th of October an amendment was made to the Georgian legislation, which highlights that public access will be restricted to the asset declarations of those high-ranking public officials the position of which has been classified as secret information according to the Law on State Secrecy.
On March 13, 2016 the video footage of Georgian politician's private life was uploaded on social network YouTube. The recorder and the distributor of the video footage is unknown, since the Prosecutor's Office is still investigating the matter.
On April 16, 2015, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) sent a freedom of information letter to the Georgian Revenue Service requesting information on whether the Revenue Service had conducted inspections of Free Industrial Zones (FIZ) in the country. IDFI also requested the reports or protocols prepared by the Revenue Service as a result of these inspections.

Access to court decisions in Georgia has recently deteriorated. Even different branches of the judiciary cannot agree on the rules for disclosing these decisions. The following is IDFI’s attempt to examine international best practice in this regard, and develop recommendations for Georgia.
