The UN Human Rights Council passed a resolution recognizing access to internet as a fundamental and basic human right. The resolution “affirms that the same rights that people have offline must also be protected online”.

The Coalition for Independent and Transparent Judiciary responds to the process of selecting 65 new judges in the High Council of Justice. Interviews with all candidates have already been completed. The Council will announce the new judges in the near future.

IDFI was named by Transparify among the world’s most financially transparency think tanks along with 6 other Georgian non-governmental organizations. Transparify published its 2016 report on June 28. The report examines the financial transparency of 200 think tanks in 47 countries. Transparify analyzed funding information disclosed by these organizations and rated them on a 5 star rating system (with 5 being highly transparent).
The US Freedom of Information Act is a federal law that sets the standards for disclosure of documents and information held by public institutions. It defines the concept of public information and regulates the exceptions for the disclosure of information.
