National Assessment of Georgian Municipalities 2021

According to the results of the 2021 National Assessment of Transparency and Accountability of Georgian Municipalities, the average score of municipalities is 28% (on a 100% rating scale), which is equal to the 2019 assessment score. It can be thus said that, according to the data of 2021, the rate of transparency and accountability of municipalities has remained practically unchanged.

Presentation of Results: National Assessment of Georgian Municipalities - 2021

On December 15, 2021, representatives of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Centre for Training and Consultancy (CTC), and Management Systems Development Center (MSDC) presented the results of the 2021 Local Self-Government Index. IDFI Supported Tbilisi City Hall in Elaborating Open Data Portal Concept and Technical Terms of Reference

With the active participation of IDFI and financial support of USAID GGI, Tbilisi City Hall elaborated and approved the concept of an open data portal, based on which the portal will be launched. Along with the concept, a detailed technical description of the portal was prepared.

At the Government Meeting on August 9, 2021, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, spoke about the necessity of increasing the salaries of public servants. According to the Prime Minister, the remuneration of public sector employees could not compete with the private sector.
