Giorgi Kldiashvili, Director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) was arrested by the Department of Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia when he was transporting home his registered collection firearm (Luger P08, issued in 1921) after it was repaired at official arms shop.
Within the scopes of the aforementioned project students will have the opportunity to be involved in the 4 day lecturing course – 'Georgia 2020 and Foreign Direct Investments'. The named lecturing course will be conducted by Sebastian Tideman, Bremen University, PhD candidate

Today the Ombudsmen addressed Public Prosecutor to close criminal proceedings against the director of IDFI Giorgi Kldiashvili.
Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary is making a statement with respect to the arrest of Giorgi Kldiashvili, Director of the Coalition member organization - Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI). It has come to Coalition’s attention that the court has found his arrest illegal and held that the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had carried it out in violation of the requirements envisioned in law.

On the first day of the Forum, IDFI (Institute for Development of Freedom of Information) presented its Awareness activities carried out throughout 2014, which put its emphasis on active engagement of young people.
60 students were awarded with certificates in the lecturing course - 25 Years of Transformation – Eastern Europe and Georgia.
Lecturing course was held by Institute for Development of freedom of Information (IDFI), Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Bremen University with the financial assistance of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany within the scopes of the project Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 – Strengthening Public Involvement (ZigB) Georgia.
On 23rd of December, IDFI with the support of Open Society Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall has organized a presentation within the project of “Concept for the New Web-Page of Tbilisi City Hall” at Courtyard Marriott Tbilisi. The survey about international practice of the foreign countries municipalities for creating and implemented web-portals as well as the new concept for web-page of Tbilisi City Hall was presented to the Mayor of Tbilisi City Hall- Davit Narmania and other district governors.
