IDFI, within the framework of Open Society Institute Budapest Foundation (OSI) funded Organizational Development Grant is seeking for a Grants Acquisition Specialist. The purpose of this position is to implement IDFI’s Fundraising Strategy and ensure quality grant concepts and proposals in line with IDFI’s standards and donor requirements are prepared and won. The position holder will represent IDFI with various donors by providing programmatic information as required. The Specialist will pursue grant funded opportunities with a variety of donors and support IDFI to acquire funds in its areas of expertise (Good Governance; Media, Internet and Telecommunications; Economy and Social Policy; and Society Studies) for further financial sustainability purposes.
- Lead/ensure the successful implementation of the organization’s Fundraising Strategy;
- Research and prepare needed resources for donor outreach, grant bidding activities, such as capacity statements, project summaries, partner profiles, etc;
- With the support of IDFI relevant staff ensure consistent and professional engagement in outreaching the potential donor (indicated in the fundraising strategy and beyond) opportunities and acquiring grants and private funds;
- Lead the research and development process of new proposals in close coordination with related technical staff members in order to ensure high quality proposals that meet the requirements of the donors;
- Lead the process and provide direction in the development of individual donor relations.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Must have Bachelor’s degree in work relevant field (international development, business administration and/or other social sciences). Master’s degree is an advantage;
• Experience in writing winning proposals;
• Experienced networker with a proven ability to maintain strong and up to date knowledge of grant opportunities and trends in IDFI thematic areas (see www.idfi.ge; Publications);
• Thorough understanding of historical, culture, political and socioeconomic situation in Georgia;
• Experienced in program design/proposal development, monitoring and evaluation;
• Excellent knowledge of donor communication methods;
• Strong negotiation and representation skills;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Knowledge of program management cycle;
• Knowledge and understanding of donor profiles and regulations;
• Ability to engage at strategic level with bilateral and multilateral donors;
• Sound verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in team;
• Excellent organization and time management skills, ability to work under pressure.
