On November 9-10, IDFI organized a lecture “Accounting and Investments” at Tbilisi State University.
On October 6th, 2015 the Bulgarian National Assembly adopted at first reading amendments to the Access to Public Information Act (APIA). Amendments included in the draft legislation regulate issues such as proactive publication of information, establishment of an oversight body, sanctions for the failure to fulfill obligations dwelling from freedom to information legislation and etc. For the detailed information see the full text of the article.
On October 29th, 2015, Tamar Kordzaia became a new Chairperson for the Inter-Factional Group of the Parliament of Georgia.
On November 5-6, IDFI organized a lecture “Accounting and Investments” and a training session “Academic Writing” at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.
On November 5th Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held the meeting with Ukraine Delegation.
Suneeta Kaimal, Deputy Director of Revenue Watch Institute – Co-chair of the Open Government Partnership Steering Committee, was an impressive speaker at the OGP Summit opening ceremony.
The planned deficit budget does not promote the retaining of stable exchange rate in the short term. In the light of 35% depreciation of GEL and high dollarisation level, the trust toward the national currency is significantly decreased, which means that very little is enough to aggravate negative expectations in the society.
IDFI appealed to the Georgian National Communications Commission and requested sanctioning of the LTD "r.b.j." - due to abrogation of the requirements of the Georgian law.
In the framework of the Open Government Partnership Global Summit, Director of IDFI - Giorgi Kldiashvili and Chairman of the Board - Levan Avalishvili, with the member of the Georgian Parliament, Tamar Kordzaia met with Rafael Ortiz Fábrega, the President of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica.
