A workshop of the Consultative Group of the Open Governance Council of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara was held on July 15.
In the framework of the project “Assessing Georgia’s progress in 20 EaP Deliverables for 2020” IDFI summed up implementation and challenges of the Public Administration Reform.

On June 15, 2020 the Independent Inspector partially granted the administrative complaint of Institute for Development of Freedom of Information regarding abolishing its individual administrative-legal act and obligating the person responsible for releasing public information to provide requested information to IDFI.
On August 2, 2018, Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) established a non-commercial legal entity “Media Academy”. The role of the organization is to promote the development of media literacy.
On 5 July, 2020 the House Committee on Appropriations of the US Congress published the bill on allocation of finances for 2021 initiated by the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittee.
Since the day of its establishment, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) has been working on the issue of the Soviet repressions, has published numerous studies and articles, has carried out various activities and has been cooperating with the internationally well-known universities, research institutes and centers.
As part of the research, IDFI requested public information from about 80 public institutions (Legal Entities of Public Law under the Ministries and other independent authorities) about the number of vehicles owned by them, fuel limit regulations, and fuel consumption expenditures for 2018-2019.
The Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council held first remote sitting. The meeting was led by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Kakha Kuchava, who discussed the current activities and future plans of the Council.
On 19 and 24 June, the Memory and Disinformation Studies Direction at the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information organized one Russian-language and one English-language online meeting with the researchers and experts involved in IDFI’s project „Enhancing Openness of State Archives in Former Soviet Republics and Eastern Bloc Countries“.
