IDFI will Hold Meeting with Students on Open Data: Source of Changes and Innovations

On December 1st, at 16:00, representatives of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) will host a meeting at Tbilisi State University within the scope of the project “Open Data: Source of Changes and Innovations”. During the meeting data gathered from public entities will be introduced and accessibility as well as the ways of usage of this information for business-startups will be discussed.

 

Open Data Portal www.data.gov.ge was created several months ago. Data bases, owned by public entities are periodically published on the website in various, convenient formats for citizens.

 

The web portal www.data.gov.ge gives opportunity to every user, representative of private sector or other interested persons to access the data and use it to create applications, business projects and e-services.

 

IDFI monitors accountability, proactive disclosure, efficiency and availability of public information in public entities within the framework of the project "Open Data: Source for Changes and Innovations”. IDFI starts informational meetings. Representatives from IDFI will discuss the current situation in Georgia regarding access to open data and will present the applications created by the IDFI using public databases.
