Demonstration to honor the memory of victims of 1937-38 Stalin repressions

On December 21, on the birthdate of Joseph Stalin, Institute for Development of Freedom of Information organized symbolic demonstration to honor the memory of victims of 1937-38 Stalin repressions.

Demonstration was organized spontaneously and organizers exhibited photos, letters, memoirs and other materials of the victims of repressions on Rustaveli Avenue, in front of the former parliament building. Citizens, who attended the demonstration, read the lists of the represses persons.

 

Total of 3616 persons from Georgia were executed with the command of Stalin. Institute for Development of Freedom of Information in cooperation with its partners has collected the biographic data, photos, personal letters, memoirs and other important documents. Organization is planning to publish the book about these repressions and present all the above-mentioned materials in it.
