On January 10, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) together with Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) held a closing event of the project “Contributing to PAR through Civic Monitoring and Engagement”.
The first case of coronavirus in Georgia was recorded on February 26, 2020.Since December 27, 2021, a total of 924,066 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported, with 13,583 patients who have died.

On December 19, 2021 the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) organized the training for the participants of the Educational Certification Program in Fighting Corruption on „Governance of Anti-Corruption Policy in Private Sector “. The training was led by the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Anti-money Laundering and Compliance of the Bank of Georgia – Ms. Tamar Goderdzishvili.
On December 14, IDFI organized a partner session within the framework of the 2021 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit, titled Stronger Alliances against Corruption in Procurement through the Lens of OGP.
On December 6, 2021, IDFI held an international high-level online conference on good governance, titled Sustainable Governance of Natural Resources: the Role of Transparency, Lessons Learned and Future Plans.
On December 16, 2021, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) held the 3rd International Conference: "Openness of the State Archives and Memory Studies". The event was hybrid, attendance was also possible online, via the ZOOM platform.
According to the results of the 2021 National Assessment of Transparency and Accountability of Georgian Municipalities, the average score of municipalities is 28% (on a 100% rating scale), which is equal to the 2019 assessment score. It can be thus said that, according to the data of 2021, the rate of transparency and accountability of municipalities has remained practically unchanged.
On December 9-14, 2021 IDFI’s Winter School "Rule of Law and Human Rights" was held. The aim of the school was to enhance students' knowledge of the rule of law and human rights, to encourage discussions on problematic issues, to exchange views and to strengthen democratic values.
On December 15, 2021, representatives of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Centre for Training and Consultancy (CTC), and Management Systems Development Center (MSDC) presented the results of the 2021 Local Self-Government Index. The initiative is financially supported by the Open Society Georgia Foundations (OSGF).
