On October 20, 2020, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), with the support from the European Union (EU) held a presentation of the project - Monitoring Covid-19 related public spendings and human rights protection during the state of emergency and after.
On October 14, 2020, Freedom House published an annual report on Internet freedom around the world. In 2020, Georgia obtained a score of 76 out of 100 and was assessed as “Free” in terms of Internet freedom. The country’s score improved by 1 point compared to 2019.
Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) constitute a research database based on over 30 data sources reflecting the views and evaluations stemming from citizens, entrepreneurs and experts.
Within the scope of the Educational Certification Program in Fighting Corruption, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) has renewed the terms of the Memorandum with the Ilia State University.
The amendments to the Law of Georgia on Information Security initiated in October 2019 became the subject of criticism of the representatives of civil society, private sector as well as the experts in the field. IDFI was actively involved in the process of reviewing the bill and examining the risks associated with the amendments.
On October 2 and 8, 2020, Building Integrity and Transparency Strategies and Action Plans for 2020-2023 were approved by the ordinances of the City Halls of Zugdidi and Senaki municipalities.

On October 2020, IDFI held an international high-level online conference on good governance, entitled Political Integrity and Elections: Challenges and Innovative Solutions. The Forum was organized in cooperation with the Open Government Partnership (OGP), with the support of the global philanthropic organization, Luminate.
On September 30, 2020, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held a workshop on access to information on the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector.
