Transparency of State Agencies: Monitoring Results - Media Coverage

News | IDFI in Media 24 May 2016

IDFI periodically monitors public agency websites in order to evaluate their compliance with the obligations of proactive disclosure. Towards the end of 2014, we conducted a large scale monitoring of mandatory public information from 2013-2014 available on websites of 133 public agencies, and provided public agencies with specific recommendations for improvement.

The latest monitoring was conducted in May 1-15, 2016. This time, we monitored the websites of the Government Administration and 16 Ministries, and looked for public information from 2015 and the first quarter of 2016.

Channel 1 of the Georgian Public Broadcaster dedicated an extensive segment to the study featuring IDFI director Giorgi Kldiashvili, who emphasized the importance of proactive publication of information.

Online news portals also took interest in the study. A short version was published by www.medianews.ge and www.newposts.ge.

The study was published in full by www.epn.ge, www.interpressnews.ge and www.ipress.ge.
