Presentation of Final Results of the Project “Development of e-Participation in Georgia”

“Institute for Development of Freedom of Information” in cooperation with the “Center for Post Soviet Studies” will present the final results of monitoring of official Facebook and web-pages of public institutions on June 25th, Tuesday, at Courtyard Marriot.


Presentation will cover the concept of citizen platform www.ichange.ge, rating of public institutions according to the communication mechanisms of their e-resources and recommendations for improving bilateral communication between the citizens and public sector.


IDFI started the project “Development of e-Participation in Georgia” on June 1st, 2012. Within the frames of this project, organization conducted the monitoring of official Facebook pages and web-pages of public institutions, as well as telephone monitoring. Project team prepared 13 researches (including the analysis of legislative and international practice), 5 videos, conducted discussions with the representatives of public institutions, media and civil society, held online survey.


Based on studying and analyzing the Georgian and international practice, project team elaborated the recommendations for improving communication between the citizens and the state and for providing citizen active involvement in political processes.


Organization also elaborated the concept of civil platform www.ichange.ge. The latest version of the concept is designed according to the opinions of public and civil sector, media and students who actively participated in the discussions conducted in the frames of the project.


Project was implemented within the frames of “East-West Management Institute” program “Public Policy, Advocacy and Civil Society – Georgia”.


The representatives of public institutions, NGOs, international organizations and media will be invited to attend this event.
