On July 15, 2024, as part of the competition on policy documents, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held an online training on public policy analysis. Young professionals interested in the competition received practical and theoretical information on public policy issues, how to prepare a policy analysis document.In particular, the participants got familiar with:
- how to define a problem and build a problem tree;
- how to prepare a context analysis;
- How to analyze the attitudes of different stakeholders regarding the problem;
- How to develop ways to solve the problem and recommendations;
- Also, in general, how to prepare a policy document.
The training was held in an interactive format. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, work in groups on problem tree building, and receive advice from the trainer on preparing a policy analysis document.
The policy document competition is announced with the support of the USAID National Governance Program, within the framework of the project "Empowering Youth for Evidence-Based Policy-Making". It aims is to empower youth, students, and young professionals to become active contributors to the policymaking process through capacity building, sharing practical experience/best practices, and providing them a wide-range of opportunities to prepare and communicate evidence-based analyses and recommendations.
