Discussion – Internet as Human Right

 

Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Georgia will hold discussion – Internet as Human Right. In 2014 World Wide Web turns 25, on December 10 world celebrates international human rights day. Thus, December 6th was chosed as a date to held discussion Internet in Human Right 


Eight speakers (David Lee, Lasha Tughushi, Zviad Koridze, David Kldiashvili, Tamta Tepnadze, Nino Sarishvili, George Gogua, Gubaz Koberidze) will discuss the problems and challenges, that internet and internet users have to face in Georgia.

The main topics of the first panel - Challanges in Georgia will be:


1. Censorship and Copyright
2. Surveillance through internet
3. Hate Speech 

 

In the second panel - Regulations, Dos and Don'ts invited speakers and guests will discuss the ways of solving the problems, regulation issues, etc. Speakers will present their recommendations.
