Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) together with Ilia State University is implementing the Certified Program on Fighting Corruption. The program consists of 8 modules and aims to raise awareness and support the development of the program participants, as active individuals in combating corruption.
Within the scopes of the Program, an open lecture was held by Mamuka Jgenti on May 13. Mamuka Jgenti is the former representative of Georgia in the Council of Europe and is the Key Expert on Judiciary/CSOs in the EU Global AML/CFT Facility in Brussels, Belgium.
The aim of the lecture was to provide the participants information on basic international instruments, standards, and structures in fighting the money laundering and financing the terrorism, and the challenges created in this sphere by the global Pandemic.
Currently, the 6th module on Corruption and Politics is implemented which is lectured by the Chairperson of Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) – Sulkhan Saladze.
The Educational Certification Program on Fighting Corruption, has started on October 8 and there 2 more modules left for participants until the course will be finished. The Program is financially supported by the Open Society Foundations with co-funding from the Open Society Georgia Foundation.
