On December 1, 2023, The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held the award ceremony for the 2022-2023 participants of the Certification Program in Fighting Corruption. Students in the program who successfully completed the academic courses offered within its framework were awarded certificates recognizing their achievement. IDFI and Ilia State University also spoke regarding the overall results of the 2022-2023 academic year. Attendees received information about the progress, development, and future plans of the program.
IDFI’s Executive Director, Giorgi Kldiashvili, offered opening remarks, during which he thanked Ilia State University for hosting the program and introduced the meeting participants to the results achieved and future plans within its framework. The Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts of Ilia State University, Nino Mataradze, also offered her remarks for the opening of the meeting.
This was followed by the program lecturers and the graduates of the previous years of the program speaking on the results and importance of the Certification Program in Fighting Corruption. Specifically, Giorgi Chkheidze and Levan Natroshvili, who conducted lectures for the program participants in the subjects of I. Good Governance and Corruption and II. Corruption, Money, Politics, addressed the meeting participants, discussing the results of the Program and the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired by the students. Graduates from previous years - Mariam Katsitadze and Nino Taganashvili - shared their experiences in the ways the mentioned courses helped them in their careers and professional advancement. The event was facilitated by the Associate Professor at Ilia State University, Davit Maisuradze.
Following the discussion of the Program's results and future plans, the 2022-2023 graduate certificate award ceremony was held, which included the recognition of the six highest-achieving graduates.
