On December 23, 2021 the Open Governance Council and its Consultative Group organized the final workshop regarding the summary of implementation of the 2020-2021 SCA OGP Action Plan.

Supreme Council has executed majority of the 15 commitments of the Action Plan and some of the commitments are in the process of implementation.

In order to increase citizens' involvement, accountability and transparency of the Council, relevant changes in the Rules of Procedure were developed and implemented, the petition institute was introduced, the webpage of the Supreme Council was adapted, and the arrangement of the physical space of the Citizens' Engagement Center is in the final stage of completion. From the beginning of 2022, an electronic platform for citizen engagement will be launched, which will allow anyone to participate in the work of the Council electronically without leaving home - to watch the live broadcast of the sessions, comment on bills, submit a petition electronically, schedule a meeting with a member of SCA, send a letter electronically and receive other digital services.

The meeting was accompanied with a discussion, Supreme Council and the civil sector expressed their desire to continue cooperation and maintain the sustainability of the implementation of the principles of OGP in the activities of the Supreme Council. The steps taken by the Supreme Council to fulfill the commitments of the action plan were positively evaluated by the Consultative Group.

The workshop was held within the framework of the European Union (EU) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) project "Consolidation of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia". The project is closely cooperating with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) to promote Open Governance Principles at the Parliament of Georgia and the Supreme Council of Ajara (SCA).
