On July 23, 2024, as part of the competition on policy documents, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held an online training on research methods, data analysis and communication. Young professionals interested in the competition received practical and theoretical information about the methods to be used when preparing a policy document on public policy issues. In particular, the participants got familiar with:

 - relevant research methods for each stage of the policy analysis cycle;

 - data analysis and visualization methods;

 - methods of analysis of stakeholders and determination of their attitudes;

 - communication of policy documents and development of political memos.

The training was held in an interactive format. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, work in groups on problem tree building, and receive advice from the trainer on preparing a policy analysis document.

The policy document competition is announced with the support of the USAID National Governance Program, within the framework of the project "Public Policy Pilot Initiatives to Engage and Mentor Youth". It aims is to empower youth, students, and young professionals to become active contributors to the policymaking process through capacity building, sharing practical experience/best practices, and providing them a wide-range of opportunities to prepare and communicate evidence-based analyses and recommendations.
