IDFI announces contest Georgia 2020

The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), founded in 2009, is a non-entrepreneurial, non-commercial legal entity. IDFI is committed to enhance the development and the implementation of the democratic values, also supports government agencies via academic-research activities and drawn-out analytical works and recommendations.

 

IDFI and Bremen University with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany are implementing the project Strategic Plan Georgia 2020 – Strengthening Public Involvement (ZigB). The aim of the project is to promote discussions about Strategic Plan of the Georgian Government On Approving Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Georgia “Georgia 2020” (Government of Georgia, #400 Ordinance, June 17, 2014) and to launch the public discussions about its aims and raise the public awareness about it.

 

Within the scopes of the project IDFI addresses active users of the internet-space (bloggers, analytics and others) to take part in the open competition. The age of the participants should not exceed 35 years.

 

Those who want to participate in the competition are required to send their CV and Essay to the following email: vacancies@idfi.ge and in the subject line put “Georgia – 2020”.



CV and Essay should be written in English.


Essay should not exceed 5 pages where 3 topics should be discussed:


1. How the participant evaluates his/her own work – being an author in the internet-space and what role does the participant grant to his/her own activities for the process of the development of the civil society;
2. The participant should evaluate his/her most successful work. Participant should specify why he/she likes this work, what respond did this work cause, and should enclose the web-link as well.
3. What activities does he/she implement in connection with the about Strategic Plan of the Georgian Government On Approving Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Georgia “Georgia 2020” for the purposes of increasing the public awareness.


Last date of the application submission is November 9. The competition consists of two stages: first stage will be selecting applications, and second stage – interviewing the selected candidates.


Candidates selected in the competition will take part in the three day workshop organized by IDFI – “Strategy – 2020”. IDFI and Bremen University, with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, will grant candidates selected during the workshop with the three months scholarship. Best candidate, among the candidates selected via competition, will be awarded by the premium money award in January, 2015, on the Blogger’s Day, organized by the IDFI.


Final Day of the submission of applications: November 9, 2014.
Date of Interview: November 14-15-16.
Meeting with the selected candidates: November 17.
Three day workshop “Strategy – 2020”: November 21-22-23 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
