Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open Governance

Coalition Activity | Open Governance and Anti-Corruption 5 May 2022

Parliament of Georgia is involved in implementation of OGP principles since 2015. An Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group were created within the framework of the project “Supporting Parliament of Georgia Involvement in Open Government Partnership Initiative”. The Working Group is composed of representatives of CSOs and international organizations. Within the framework of the project IDFI supports activities of Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group. At the same time, IDFI is coordinator of the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group.

In 2016, instead of the Inter-Factional Group and the Open Parliament Working Group, according to the first Open Parliament Georgia Action 2015-2016, Parliament of Georgia created the Permanent Parliamentary Council on Open Governance which is comprised by the MPs and operates together with the Consultative Group which is comprised by the representatives of the civil society and international organizations. Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) is the Chair organization of the Consultative Group.
