Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) became a local partner of the Slovakia-based independent consulting company and think-tank - Strategic Analysis.

The parties signed a memorandum of partnership and expressed their willingness to jointly work on future projects concerning European Neighborhood and South Caucasus.  Strategic Analysis team combines over ten years of experience working and networking across the region.

In the upcoming future, IDFI will be involved in the international conference titled: ABL communities and their challenges: What are their solutions?  to be held in Gori on November 15-16, 2022.  IDFI has been working in the Shida Kartli region for over a year now developing two projects: “New Identity for the City of Gori” and “Solidarity Branding - Promoting Entrepreneurs Living in Shida Kartli, next to ABL”. Strategic Analysis Think Tank, MESA10 (the organisation implementing the project titled Development of Communities along the ABL around the Tskhinvali region with the focus on local administration and development) and IDFI share a common goal, which is bringing light to the challenges of the communities along the Administrative Border Line in Georgia.  Thus, derived from the experience, IDFI representatives will present the outcomes at the conference and share the working practices with the Strategic Analysis team.

During the two-day conference, self-government and local administration representatives, small businesses owners, NGOs/CSOs representatives, local journalists, representatives of the central government, experts, and representatives of the Georgian decision-making sphere will discuss the findings of the initial field research that was conducted during the first part of the project. Representatives of the implementing consortium from the V4 countries will also be present to share their experience with the selected topics (regional development, micro-entrepreneurship, SMEs, renewable energy and green innovations, agrotourism, social entrepreneurship, and social agriculture).

In addition, the conference will serve as a platform for the presentation of the results of field research - studies and will be a space for a final discussion on the recommendations and solutions from the perspective of local governments located along the ABL in Georgia.

IDFI  is looking forward to the fruitful collaboration and successful partnership with Strategic Analysis.
