On December 16, 2022, the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) held the 4th international conference: The importance of openness of state archives in reevaluating the Soviet past and standing against propaganda.

On December 17, 2022, throughout the 4th International Conference - "The importance of openness of state archives in reevaluating the Soviet past and standing against propaganda", the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) organized a visit to the city of Gori and Kaspi museum of occupation.

IDFI finished its informational meetings in regions about repressed people

Since July 2022 the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) in cooperation with the National Parliament Library of Georgia and Center of Regional Initiatives - “Bright Future” started a regional tourney during which held a presentation on the issue of repressed people a screening of the film "Cemetery of the Shot in Batumi" shot by Radio Free Georgia/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).

On February 9, 2022, Polish Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) completed the process of exhumation in Adjara and the mass grave №6 of the victims of the Great Terror of 1937-1938.

How Russian disinformation tactics were utilised in the context of the 2008 5-day war

In the post-Soviet context, the first Chechen war (1994-1996) illustrated to the Russian state the importance that disinformation can play during times of conflict. Despite eventually overwhelming the Chechen forces in the successive conflict, Russia was said to have lost the ‘information war’ between the two sides.
