Russian malign influence still defines the post-Soviet region’s most pressing political, economic and social challenges. While Russian hybrid strategies in the cyber war and information sphere have been much discussed and analysed, there is often a lack of up-to-date empirical evidence documenting Russian influences in different Georgian business sectors.

Discussion meetings with Gori youth were held within the framework of the project - "A new identity for the city of Gori "

The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held  meetings with students and teachers of Gori, within the framework of the project - Overcoming disinformation and nostalgia surrounding Stalin: A new identity for the city of Gori. On February 18,  meeting was held in the exhibition centre of the Photographers' Club of Gori and on February 21, in the Verkhvebi IDP Settlement with the youth living there.

The first stage of work on the mass grave of the Great Terror (1937-1938) in Khelvachauri has been completed

On February 9, 2022, Polish Institute of National Remembrance  (IPN) completed the process of exhumation in Adjara and the mass grave №6 of the victims of the Great Terror of 1937-1938, discovered in Khelvachauri, near Batumi, was fully examined.

Primary data from Adjara: remains of 29 victims were found in the grave №6

From January 4, delegation from the Polish Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) invited by the Eparchy of Batumi and Lazeti and Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI),  is examining and excavating human remains discovered in Adjara from the sixth mass terror.
