IDFI Legislative Proposal on Access to Archival Documents

On April 14, 2022, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) submitted a legislative proposal to the Parliament of Georgia about amendments and additions to the Law of Georgia - “On the National Archival fund and the National Archives.”

Implementation of the Project: “Solidarity Branding” has started

On March 28, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) started implementation of the project "Solidarity Branding - Promoting Entrepreneurs Living in the Shida Kartli Region, Next to the Occupied Territories". On April 13 together with the Georgian Farmers Association (GFA) in Gori and Kareli districts held a meeting and got acquainted with their entrepreneurial activities.

Tendencies of Russian Disinformation in Georgia Along with the War in Ukraine

September 27 -  The Kremlin stated that any expansion of NATO military infrastructure in Ukraine would cross one of President Vladimir Putin's "red lines", while Belarus said that  it had agreed with Moscow to take action against NATO's expansion.

Anthropological study of the remains of the Great Terror has started in Batumi

At the invitation of IDFI, and the Diocese of Batumi and Lazeti, specialists from the Wroclaw Medical University began a thorough anthropological study of the remains found in the mass grave of the victims of the Great Terror of 1937-1938 in Khelvachauri near Batumi.

Russian malign influence still defines the post-Soviet region’s most pressing political, economic and social challenges. While Russian hybrid strategies in the cyber war and information sphere have been much discussed and analysed, there is often a lack of up-to-date empirical evidence documenting Russian influences in different Georgian business sectors.

Discussion meetings with Gori youth were held within the framework of the project - "A new identity for the city of Gori "

The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held  meetings with students and teachers of Gori, within the framework of the project - Overcoming disinformation and nostalgia surrounding Stalin: A new identity for the city of Gori. On February 18,  meeting was held in the exhibition centre of the Photographers' Club of Gori and on February 21, in the Verkhvebi IDP Settlement with the youth living there.

The first stage of work on the mass grave of the Great Terror (1937-1938) in Khelvachauri has been completed

On February 9, 2022, Polish Institute of National Remembrance  (IPN) completed the process of exhumation in Adjara and the mass grave №6 of the victims of the Great Terror of 1937-1938, discovered in Khelvachauri, near Batumi, was fully examined.
