Aghasi Khanjian’s Case

This article concerns the report and repressions against the Secretary of the Regional Committee of Bashchiketi (nowadays, Dmanisi), Otiani, after the mystic case of the death of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Armenian SSR, Aghasi Khanjian, because Otiani publicly expressed his opinion about Khanjian’s death, which was different from the official party version.

Public Discussion: Reviewing the Judgement of the Constitutional Court of Georgia on the pandemic case

On March 9, 2021, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) with support from the European Union (EU), in the framework of the project - Monitoring Covid-19 related public spendings and human rights protection during the state of emergency and after -  held an online discussion on the Judgement of the Constitutional Court of Georgia of February 11, 2021.

Statistics of the Use of the Georgian Healthcare Programs on the Occupied Territories of Georgia in 2019-2020

According to Georgia’s official policy toward the occupied regions, the state is responsible to elaborate the proposals and formats for the peace process on the occupied territories and engage in the peace-making process. This policy also encompasses the provision of healthcare for the patients living on the occupied territories of Georgia (the Occupied Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and Former Autonomous District of South Ossetia)  within the frame of the Referral Service Provision State Program

A century has passed since 25 February 1921 when the Russian 11th Army invaded the Democratic Republic of Georgia. 100 years ago, the occupation of Georgia was preceded by the battles for defending the independence of the country, which continued even after 25 February.

IDFI’s Online Conference on Artificial Intelligence: Major Takeaways and Outcomes

On February 18, IDFI held an online conference entitled, Artificial Intelligence: International Trends and Georgia. The conference aimed to explore international tendencies, standards, transparency, and ethical principles of using artificial intelligence, as well as particular cases of using artificial intelligence in Georgia’s public sector, and their implications for the right to privacy in the country.

Based on the IDFI’s application, the Public Defender of Georgia addressed the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with a recommendation to release public information

On February 11, 2021, the Public Defender established a violation of the constitutional right - access to public information of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
