The Overview of the Censorship of the Georgian Press and Print Media

The fight against censorship and for the freedom of speech counts centuries. One of the most ancient cases of censorship is related to the philosopher, Socrates who was sentenced to death in 333 BC for spreading the ideas among the youth that opposed his contemporary moral and political code.

The Training was organized on the Self-assessment Report of the Open Parliament Action Plan

On April 28, IDFI organized the training on the development of the self-assessment report of the Open Parliament Georgia Action Plan. Secretariat of the Parliamentary Council on Open Governance and representatives of other secretariats of the Parliamentary Councils were present on the training.

The meetings were held in Ceronisi, Avlev, Kvemo Nikozi and Patara Gorijvari, where, 800 meters from the occupation line, entrepreneurs have cultivated greenhouses and cultivate different types of crops.

IDFI Legislative Proposal on Access to Archival Documents

On April 14, 2022, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) submitted a legislative proposal to the Parliament of Georgia about amendments and additions to the Law of Georgia - “On the National Archival fund and the National Archives.”

Implementation of the Project: “Solidarity Branding” has started

On March 28, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) started implementation of the project "Solidarity Branding - Promoting Entrepreneurs Living in the Shida Kartli Region, Next to the Occupied Territories". On April 13 together with the Georgian Farmers Association (GFA) in Gori and Kareli districts held a meeting and got acquainted with their entrepreneurial activities.

Presentation of the SCA citizen engagement platform chaerte.sca.ge

On April 6, the Supreme Council (SCA) of Ajara presented the citizen engagementweb-platform – chaerte.sca.ge. The web platform is developed based on the commitments of the Open Governance Action Plan 2020-2021 of SCA and integrates several digital services.
