The Meeting of the Non-Governmental and International Organizations of the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group

On April 27, at 14:00, the United Nations House was hosting the meeting among the Non-Governmental and International Organizations involved in the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group.


The Participants of the meeting discussed the issues of the involvement of the Parliament of Georgia in the Open Government Partnership Initiative (OGP) and the establishment of the Open Parliament Principle. The attendants discussed the recommendations that can be considered in the drawing out of Open Parliament Georgia Action Plan. Participants highlighted the importance of coordinating the common approach by International and Non-Governmental Organizations regarding the Parliamentary Openness and the Open Parliament Georgia Working Group.


The Open Parliament Georgia Working Group was created within the scopes of the project “Supporting Parliament of Georgia Involvement in Open Government Partnership” that is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), with the partnership of the Parliament of Georgia, within the European Union (EU) funded program “Strengthening the System of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia”.


Within the scopes of the project, on April 30th, at 14:00, in the building of the Parliament of Georgia in Kutaisi the Memorandum, between the Parliament of Georgia and the International and Non-Governmental Organizations, will be signed. On the same day, the Declaration on Parliamentary Openness will be signed by the MPs as well.
