IDFI Held a Workshop on Regulation of Digital Content in Georgia

On December 8, 2021, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) with the support of Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation (BST) held a workshop: Regulation of Digital Content in Georgia: Existing Model and Challenges. The aim of the meeting was to analyze the Georgian model of disseminating information through the internet and its constitutional standards, identifying main challenges and discussing possible solutions.

 

The representatives of online media outlets, NGOs working on media topics and internet service providers attended the event. IDFI presented major outcomes of the project and several remarks on the monitoring process. Participants had a chance to share their opinions and challenges they face in terms of existing practice on digital content regulation and suggest solutions.

 

Many important problems were discussed during the meeting that will be considered in IDFI’s final report.
