IDFI joins the petition against planned changes in the “Law on Cultural Heritage”

News | Statements 22 November 2013
Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) signs the petition initiated by the civil society against planned changes in the “Law on Cultural Heritage”.

Initiators of the petition negatively estimate the draft law presented by the Government and appeal the Parliament of Georgia for rejection of the proposed legislative amendment. Planned changes in the “Law on Cultural Heritage” make possible the removal of the status of the Cultural Heritage from the monument under such vague and uncertain conditions as it is: “special cases, necessities of national importance.”

By signing the petition, IDFI underlines the importance of transparency and public involvement in such significant topics as cultural heritage.

Each citizen and public organization can support the petition by signing the petition on the following address
