DSO experience of European Countries: Condition of Digital Pay-TV in Hungary

According to Broadband TV News, almost 70% of Hungarian pay-TV homes now opt for digital services.

Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of July there were a total of 3,067,962 TV subscriptions, based on data supplied by 10 major market players.

Following survey of 2014, total population of Hungary is around 9,8 million.


From the users subscrided to Pay-TV, 2,104,107 were digital, split between cable and IPTV (1,075,159), DTH (902,616) and DTT (126,332).

 

The analogue (cable) total meanwhile stood at 963,855.

UPC remained the leading provider of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.1%, followed by Telekom (24.2%) and Digi (22.9%).
