Giorgi Kldiashvili will Participate in the Meeting Organized by OGP in New York

Giorgi Kldishvili, the director of Institute for Development of Freedom of information (IDFI) will participate in the talk show with global civil society leaders organized by Open Government Partnership (OGP) with Ford Foundation. The meeting will be held on September 24, at the head office of the Ford Foundation in New York.

The talk show will be hosted by Giorgi Kldiashvili and other leaders of international organization such as Ford Foundation, CIVICUS: the World Alliance for Citizen Participation, Transparency International (TI), Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) and Twaweza.

Director of IDFI, who is co-chairman of Open Government Georgia Forum as well, will talk about Georgia’s experience and the reforms implemented within the framework of OGP for open government.

The meeting is an opportunity to speak candidly and review the early successes and challenges of the OGP and consider how we can use the OGP platform to advance progressive agendas. Part of the new OGP four year strategy is to strengthen the links with leading global civil society coalitions and networks and to join forces to get meaningful things done.

Representatives of global civil society leader organizations will attend the event.

At the same day, on September 24, Irakli Gharibashvili the Prime Minister of Georgia will give a speech in New York at OGP’s third anniversary. Nine leaders of OGP steering committee member countries will also give speeches at the event.

The high level event titled “Open Government Partnership: Citizen Action, Responsive Government” will be held on the margins of the 69th United Nations General Assembly.
