Training was held by the Chancellery of Georgia, Civil Service Bureau and the "Supporting Electronic Governance in Georgia" program of the EU on the issues of e-governance.
The training was led by the experts of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI). With the participants of the training they shared the experience accumulated as a result of several years of work on the issues related to e-governance.

The opening was attended by the director of the Electronic Governance Program of the EU - Philip Bernard, the Head of the Civil Service Bureau - Irakli Kotetishvili and the director of the "Supporting Electronic Governance in Georgia" project - Kostas Drakas. They talked about the importance of the training related to electronic governance, especially when the implementation and development of e-governance in the civil service of Georgia is an important priority for the country. The Civil Service Bureau has been actively working in this direction since 2009 and is implementing several successful e-governance projects in the civil service sphere.

Over the course of the training the participants were introduced to important topics of electronic governance:

• Ethics in e-governance and personal data protection;
• Formulating the e-governance strategy and managing projects;
• Freedom of information and proactive disclosure of information.

The project was designed for the training of a total of 150 civil servants with the purpose of strengthening civil service and implementing effective e-governance in Georgia.
