With the collaboration of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and LEPL Data Exchange Agency (DEA), on April 21, representatives of DEA conducted the online training on cyber security for the employees, and for the participants of the Educational Certification Program in Fighting Corruption, of IDFI.

The online lecture was led by CERT-GOV-GE Manager David Kvatadze, who based on specific examples, provided the listeners with detailed information on the basic principles of cyber security and cyber hygiene, observing of which are even more critical these days.

"Today, when many of us are working remotely, when the use of various devices is increased, it is especially important to follow the basic principles of cybersecurity and cyber hygiene. The high rate of technology use is directly related to the risks of cybersecurity, and in order to reduce these risks, it is important for each of us to be aware of the basic principles of cybersecurity and cyber hygiene. I think our listeners will successfully use the information received today in a real environment,” – said David Kvatadze, CERT-GOV-GE Manager.

DEA has the online course on cybersecurity available on the special online learning platform which can help interested parties in acquiring the knowledge on basic directions of cyber-hygiene remotely, including on such topics as: security of personal computers, security of emails, mobile devices and social networks.

Representatives of IDFI will use the knowledge received during the online lecture to improve policy of cyber security in their activities.

It is noteworthy that the participants of the Educational Certification Program have successfully graduated the course on E-governance in Fighting the Corruption on April 15. Thus, the lecture on Cyber security will be additional step for the Program participants to improve the knowledge in using the technologies in decision making process.
