IDFI Held a Public Lecture on UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Telavi

On June 7, 2017, IDFI held a public lecture in Telavi titled UN Sustainable Development Goals: Global And Georgian Agenda. The event was organized in cooperation with the Administration of the Government of Georgia and UNDP Georgia, with the financial assistance of the Swedish Government and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

IDFI's Executive Director Selected as Member of the Open Government Partnership Steering Committee

IDFI's Executive Director Giorgi Kldiashvili was selected as a new member representing civil society in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee (SC) - the executive, decision-making body that develops, promotes and safeguards the values, principles and interests of OGP. The SC consists of 22 members - 11 from government and 11 from civil society. The standard term of a SC member is three years - with the possibility of a one-term renewal.

Parliament Approves Georgia’s Second Open Parliament Action Plan

On May 16, 2017, the Parliament of Georgia approved the Open Parliament Georgia Action Plan 2017-2018. The Action Plan consists of 25 Commitments that aim to increase accountability and transparency of parliamentary activities and ensure citizen participation in lawmaking processes.

Working Meeting on UN Sustainable Development Goals

On May 20, 2017, the first working meeting on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held between representatives of Georgian Ministries and Government Administration. The aim of the meeting was to discuss national targets, indicators and evaluation mechanisms suggested by experts on Goal 16.

Even though the implementation process of the 2015-2016 anti-corruption action plan is already completed, IDFI considers that the revealed gaps should be still taken into consideration while reviewing the results of 2017-2018 action plan monitoring process.
