Georgia’s Digital Broadcasting Switchover Strategy

The Government of Georgia, noting national interests of the state in developing both digital broadcasting and telecommunication and broadcasting fields, develops guidelines, strategic objectives and tasks for Georgia’s digital broadcasting switchover.
It is a strategic objective of the state that analog broadcasting in Georgia is completely switched off by June 17, 2015, while implementation of digital broadcasting switchover plan will be completed by that date.

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is responsible for execution of digitalization and correspondingly, of all other related services, including informational campaigning. Georgian Prime Minister meets deliberative council of movement to digital broadcasting

On March 7th of the current year, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development presented the landmarks of the policy of Georgia transferring to digital terrestrial broadcasting and the vision of the issue to the Prime Minister of Georgia.
