Digital Broadcasting Switchover Strategy - Preconditions of Formation Better Media Environment

On February 7, 2014, the government of Georgia approved an “Action Plan and Recommendations for Switchover to Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting”. Drafting of the final document was preceded by a long process of negotiations between governmental bodies and NGO-s concerning main components of the action plan, technical standards and legislative regulations connected to the digital switchover.

Criminal Statistics in Tbilisi (2010-2013)

As you know, the criminal statistical data published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in 2012 was not presented according to the types of criminal acts. Delay in Proactive Disclosure of Public Information

On September 1, 2013, the 26th August №219 Decree of the Government of Georgia about electronic request for and proactive disclosure of public information entered into force. Implementation of Proactive Disclosure of Public Information in Georgia

Proactive disclosure of public information has been one of the most important commitment taken by Georgia within the frameworks of the Open Government Partnership. After extensive consultations, meetings and discussions, with the active support of United States International Development Agency (USAID) and Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), the Government of Georgia finally issues a decree regarding proactive disclosure in 2013.
